Following an in-home euthanasia, you do have options for aftercare. You can bury your pet at home or arrange cremation through your regular veterinarian or directly with a crematory yourself. Dr. Sara can arrange for private or communal cremation through our local pet crematory partner, New Sewickley Pet Crematory, LLC. In that case, Angel Wings will handle your pet's transportation to and from the crematory.  Private cremations are typically completed and the pet's urn is delivered home by Angel Wings staff within 3 weeks. Dr. Sara is picky about how pets are handled after their death. We handle your pets as if they are our own.  If we handle your pet's cremation arrangements, you can know that your pet will be handled only by Angel Wings staff and crematory staff with whom we have personal relationships. Dr. Sara's patients are handled with dignity and respect throughout their lives and beyond. With private cremation, your pet's cremains are returned in a biodegradable heart or jar shaped Pawpod urn (depending on crematory availability). Attached to the urn, you will find certification of private cremation and their unique tracking ID from the crematory, assuring that the urn you receive contains your pet only. Customized upgraded urns and keepsakes are available for purchase directly through the crematory. You can view their products and order at any time at www.nspcllc.com. Angel Wings can also handle cremation for you even if we didn't euthanize your pet. If your pet has passed away at home and you'd like us to handle their aftercare, we will do our best to help. Sometimes we will need to refer you to another provider if we are fully booked or not geographically able to make it to your home in an acceptable amount of time.
